When it comes to loppers, the beauty’s in the details, and these hook-and-blade lopping shears are no exception to the rule. The rustproof Evercut blades are curved for easy bypassing and close cutting, and feature a sap groove. In addition, the blades are coated with Teflon-S for durability. The 20-inch handles have vinyl grips but lack the shock-absorbing bumpers that come with top-of-the-line loppers. Occasional gear-greasing may be in order (ours was heavily greased upon arrival), but such maintenance is commonplace. On the whole, these loppers are a good buy for the money. Limited warranty…. This Gilmour Bypass Lopper is great for routine residential use. I trimmed a yardful of overgrown trees, bushes and hedges over a period of two weekends with it, and the final cut was just as effective and efficient as the first. I don’t think you can find a better lopper for the price, and it certainly competes with loppers that sell for twice as much.
