Ames True Temper 2353100 Anvil Pruner with 5/8-Inch Cutting Capacity

The product specs say up to 5/8 inch or 1.6 cm . Realistically this pruner can cut stuff up to about 1 cm in size. Anything over that would require you to call Governor Arnold to help you. The product feels good to hold and is moderately well made. The handle has a soft rubber part which makes it comfortable to hold. The ring in the handle to put your finger through is good as it prevents the pruner form slipping and keeps it stable in your hand. But when cutting thicker stems or branches you have to remove your finger from the ring to get a more efficient grip on the handles.
The most efficient cutting is done about a cm from the tip of the blade. If you cut a little further back, it doesn’t cut through and through and will require you to shift a little nearer to the tip to finish the cut because the cutting edge and the anvil surface do not meet uniformly the entire length of the blade. The internal spring is a neat feature as it keeps the spring protected. The spring action is about right without being too stiff. The blade is adequately sharp. Have to see how it holds the edge in the long run. Ideal for light trimming and pruning.
